How do I get my Concealed Weapons License?
There are two options available to secure your license. One is not better than the other. It is simply your choice.
Option A: Mail in your application
- You need a CWL Application (we provide that for free)
- You need your application notarized (we provide that for free)
- You must get fingerprinted (this can only be done at a law enforcement agency)
- You must provide a passport size photo (CVS or Walgreens does this)
- You must provide documentation of training (we provide this after our class)
Cost estimate:
- Application fee charged by the state: $75.00
- Fingerprinting fee [electronic scan] $34.25 (on-line credit card + agency fee*)
- Fingerprinting fee (non-electronic scan) free - $10
- Passport size photo at CVS/Walgreens $ 9.00
TOTAL: $84.00 - $120.00
*The agency fee ranges in price from free to $10.00.
Option B: Visit the Orlando Regional Office
Florida provides a local Orlando office at 400 West Robinson Street, Room 10, where you can complete all the necessary items with one visit.
- Call 407-245-0883 to make an appointment (4-6 week wait time)
- Complete a BeSafeAcademy training class and receive your documentation of training.
- On the day of your appointment, they will provide you with your application, notarize it, take your photo and take your fingerprints
- Your cost for all of this is $117.00
- Your CWL will arrive in the mail about 2 weeks later
